One of the headliners of EXIT to Montenegro – Sea Dance Edition and a global frontrunner of the new wave of Latin house and Afro house, HUGEL is coming to Bečići at the biggest high point of his career so far. His current hit Movin’ To The Sun sits at No. 1 on the global Shazam chart, while Jamaican (Bam Bam) holds the No. 2 spot, placing the French superstar firmly at the top of the current global Shazam ranking.
The meteoric rise of Movin’ To The Sun, created in collaboration with Imael Angel and Ultra Naté, goes far beyond Shazam. The track topped the UK singles sales chart, spent several weeks at the top of the downloads chart and continued its climb in the latest update of the UK Official Singles Chart. In just a few weeks, it has also amassed tens of millions of streams, growing from a viral summer hit into one of the biggest songs of the season worldwide.
“My songs are #1 and #2 on the global Shazam chart. Millions of people around the world pressed that button to discover them. Behind these numbers are years of sacrifice, doubt, failure, hard work and endless love for music. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. I will never take a single moment of this for granted. The two most Shazamed songs in the world,” the French superstar shared with his fans on Instagram.
Still, Movin’ To The Sun is not an isolated peak, but part of a much wider creative surge defining this chapter of HUGEL’s career. The French superstar recently released his long-awaited debut album, Twenty One, named after his 21 years in music. Alongside the two tracks already mentioned, the album features 19 more songs and collaborations with stars including David Guetta, Snoop Dogg, Big Sean, Quavo, French Montana and Scott Storch. Blending house, Latin, Afro and hip-hop influences, Twenty One is his most ambitious project to date and has also entered the top five of the UK Dance Albums Chart.
The debut album was preceded by anthemic singles such as Morenita and I Adore You, as well as a string of club hits taking over dancefloors around the world. The French artist’s music has generated billions of streams, dominated club and digital charts and reached enormous audiences, from Tomorrowland, Burning Man and Coachella to the clubs of Ibiza and Las Vegas.
Yet the numbers tell only part of the story. HUGEL’s sets are an explosion of energy, Mediterranean spirit, Latin flair and house grooves that blur the lines between festival, club and carnival. Under the umbrella of his brand and record label Make The Girls Dance, he has built much more than a distinctive musical signature. He has created a global movement bringing together fans of Afro house and Latin house, turning every performance into a celebration of rhythm, dance and togetherness.
After taking over social media, streaming platforms, radio stations and dancefloors around the world, and earning the title of the world’s most Shazamed artist with two songs at the top of the chart, HUGEL will bring his signature sound to the festival stage in Bečići on 28 August.
This summer, we are coming together once again at Sea Dance Edition. With dance master HUGEL, Bečići will welcome the final weekend of August exactly the way summer should end – by the sea, dancing to the hits the whole world has had on repeat this year.
