HUGEL isn’t just climbing the charts this summer. He’s leading them. The latest hit from the French superstar and headliner of EXIT’s Sea Dance Festival, Movin’ To The Sun, has climbed to No. 1 on the UK iTunes Top Songs chart, ahead of some of the biggest names in global music, including Madonna and Kylie Minogue, Shakira and Burna Boy, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift.
The UK is far from the only market responding. Movin’ To The Sun, HUGEL’s collaboration with Imael Angel and the legendary Ultra Naté, is also currently No. 1 on the European iTunes chart, confirming that the track that helped define the start of summer is showing no signs of slowing down as the season enters its final stretch.
HUGEL’s soundtrack to the summer has also reached No. 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Sales and Downloads charts, while the track spent six straight weeks at the top of Beatport.
The electronic superstar does not have just one song near the summit. His Jamaican (Bam Bam) is currently among the 20 most popular tracks on UK iTunes and sits at No. 5 on the European chart. That gives the French producer two tracks in the European iTunes Top 5 at the same time, another measure of the scale of the dance wave he has set in motion in recent months.
Movin’ To The Sun is also surging on the global Shazam chart, where it firmly holds the No. 1 spot, while Jamaican (Bam Bam) sits at an impressive No. 3. HUGEL therefore currently occupies two of the top three positions on the global Shazam chart, a result that speaks volumes about the worldwide reach of his sound. With around four million Shazams, more than 80 million Spotify streams and nearly half a million TikTok and Instagram creations, the track has become a true global viral crossover hit and one of the year’s fastest-rising singles.
While his tracks dominate the charts, HUGEL is spending the busiest summer of his career moving between some of the world’s biggest dance floors. Every Thursday, he leads his own Make The Girls Dance residency at Hï Ibiza, one of the world’s best-known clubs, where he is also set to play a B2B with Diplo this month. Just one day after the 27 August edition of the residency, his next stop is Bečići for the Sea Dance Festival on 28 August.
