Belgian icon and undisputed queen of techno Charlotte de Witte, one of the headliners of the upcoming EXIT 2 Montenegro – Sea Dance Edition, delivered one of the most memorable surprises of Tomorrowland’s first weekend when she made an unannounced appearance on its legendary Mainstage.
A slot listed simply as a “surprise act” had fuelled speculation for weeks, and Charlotte de Witte’s appearance before tens of thousands of festivalgoers was met with an eruption of excitement. The techno powerhouse thrilled the crowd with an explosive blend of hard techno and psytrance, completely transforming the atmosphere and taking the energy to another level.
Fifteen years after her Tomorrowland debut, the Belgian star once again showed why she stands at the very forefront of the global electronic music scene.
“The whole journey has been such a rollercoaster. I played on the Mainstage at Tomorrowland for the first time in 2011, as Raving George. I dropped that name about four years later, in 2015. Since then, my career has exploded in a crazy way. I’ve released so many tracks, toured the world multiple times, and played at Tomorrowland multiple times.
“I had a huge moment on the Mainstage in 2018 and 2019, and then an even bigger one in 2022 when I closed it for the first time as a techno act, and as a woman. So yeah, it’s been quite a ride, and I think that’s exactly what would amaze younger me most, seeing just how far that first set would take her,” said the Belgian superstar.

Tomorrowland – the world’s best-known EDM festival and the global capital of rave culture – has also brought together several artists set to perform in Bečići from 28 to 31 August. John Newman performed on the Mainstage during the first weekend, while HUGEL and Enrico Sangiuliano are also set to take the stage at the world’s biggest electronic music festival, further confirming that the EXIT 2 Montenegro line-up features some of the most in-demand names on the global scene.
From a surprise appearance on the Tomorrowland Mainstage to the Adriatic coast, Charlotte de Witte comes to Montenegro at the height of her career. Her status as one of today’s most sought-after DJs was further cemented by a spectacular performance in Genoa, where she transformed the city’s historic centre into a vast dance floor for more than 20,000 people.
Known for her hypnotic, uncompromising sound, she turns every performance into a powerful audiovisual experience. Her return to Budva also carries special significance following the spectacular set she filmed at Mogren Fortress in 2020.
In late August, Charlotte will lead the bill in Bečići alongside Peggy Gou, HUGEL, John Newman, Enrico Sangiuliano and RPR Soundsystem, bringing the energy of the world’s biggest festival stages to the Montenegrin coast.
